Warranty Policy & Terms

This document constitutes the entire warranty policy and terms agreement ("Agreement") between Utility Auto Parts ("Company", "we", "us") and the customer ("Customer", "you"). By purchasing products from Utility Auto Parts, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Before completing your purchase with Utility Auto Parts, please thoroughly review the warranty policy and terms detailed below. By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these terms.

Warranty Period

  • Unless specified otherwise on the invoice, Utility Auto Parts provides a 30-day "Parts Replacement Only" warranty.
  • An optional 90-day warranty may be purchased separately, extending the standard warranty by an additional 60 days.
  • Both the 30-day and 90-day warranties are subject to the same terms and conditions.
  • Warranty coverage is invalid beyond the specified warranty period.

Warranty Start Date

  • The warranty takes effect on the date of delivery, as recorded by the shipping carrier upon the purchaser’s acceptance.

Warranty Coverage and Restrictions

  • The warranty excludes labor costs and storage fees.
  • The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original buyer.
  • For defective parts, Utility Auto Parts’ obligation is limited to repairing or replacing the part. If a replacement is unavailable, a refund up to the original purchase price may be issued.
  • Utility Auto Parts may, at its discretion, provide a used, functional equivalent part with comparable or higher mileage as a replacement.
  • A warranty replacement is considered a repair and does not modify or extend the original warranty terms.
  • Warranty claims must be filed within the warranty period, accompanied by the original invoice.
  • Engines: Covered for issues such as knocking or excessive smoking. Coverage includes defects in the block, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. Accessories or additional components, if included, are not covered. The warranty is void if the engine’s heat tab is melted or removed. Non-covered items include bolt-on accessories, electrical modules, wiring, sensors, or ancillary parts.
  • Transmissions: Covered for slippage or shifting issues. Accessories such as modulators, governors, electrical modules, linkage, mounts, seals, gaskets, or fluids are excluded.
  • For a valid warranty claim, parts must be installed per the "Recommended Installation Guidelines" below, with proof of compliance potentially required. Regular vehicle maintenance per the manufacturer’s specifications is mandatory, and proof may be requested.

Recommended Installation Guidelines

Engines:
  • Drain and replace engine oil to manufacturer-specified levels.
  • Replace oil, air, and fuel filters.
  • Replace valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, and rear main seal.
  • Replace timing gears, chains, belts, and gaskets as needed.
  • Install a new thermostat and gasket.
  • Flush and refill the cooling system to the proper level.
  • Install new spark plugs, wires, belts, and hoses.
Transmissions & Transfer Cases:
  • Drain and replace transmission fluid to manufacturer-specified levels.
  • Replace all seals and install a new filter kit.
  • Flush and inspect cooling lines.
  • Align and engage the torque converter into the front pump.
  • Fill with manufacturer-specified fluid.
  • Clear transmission computer codes before operation.
  • Adjust the throttle position sensor cable.

Warranty Exclusions

  • The warranty does not cover claims or damages caused by improper maintenance, overheating, abuse, negligence, freezing, fire, flood, vandalism, theft, collision, acts of God, racing, improper load/towing, contaminated fluids, misuse, road conditions, or riots/war.
  • Labor, storage, accommodation, incidental, or consequential damages (e.g., injuries, property damage, medical expenses, rentals, lost wages, freight, towing, or per diem costs) are not covered.
  • Use in commercial, for-hire, sporting, or competitive applications is excluded.
  • Failures due to non-manufacturer-approved modifications are not covered.
  • Factory recalls or related issues are excluded.
  • Costs for repair estimates or diagnostic work are not covered.
  • Wear-and-tear issues based on vehicle age/mileage or those covered by other warranties, insurance, or legal settlements are excluded.
  • Issues such as leaking gaskets/seals, oil leaks from non-replaced seals/gaskets/filters, or failures due to unflushed transmission cooling lines are not covered. Transmission relearning, resetting, or valve body replacement is excluded, as are external switches/sensors on transmissions.
  • The external appearance of used parts (e.g., dirt, oil, rust) is not warranted.
  • Claims outside the U.S. or filed after the warranty period are not covered.
  • Operating the vehicle after initiating a claim, before a resolution, voids the warranty.
  • Improper installation or installation by a non-ASE-certified mechanic or non-licensed repair facility voids the warranty.

Submitting a Warranty Claim

  • Claims must be filed within the warranty period, including a diagnostic report from an ASE-certified mechanic or licensed repair facility, the installation invoice, and receipts proving compliance with Recommended Installation Guidelines.
  • Submit all documents, along with your full name and contact information, to contact@utilityautoparts.com. A representative will respond within 24–48 business hours, excluding major holidays.
  • Delivery acceptance is required for claim eligibility. Parts refused at delivery incur a 25% handling/restocking fee, with the purchaser responsible for all shipping costs.
  • Defective parts must be available for inspection if requested.

Returns, Cancellations, and Refunds

  • All returns and cancellations require prior authorization.
  • Cancellations after order processing incur a 25% handling/restocking fee.
  • Cancellations after shipping incur a 25% fee plus all shipping costs.
  • Incorrectly ordered or canceled parts are the purchaser’s responsibility, subject to a 25% fee and all return shipping costs.
  • No refunds or credits for engines/transmissions not returned in their original condition (except for verified shipping damage).
  • Damaged or incorrect parts must be reported within 72 hours of delivery via email and phone. Both the purchaser and driver must note “DAMAGED” on the delivery receipt. Do not return parts without a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).
  • If a part is defective, Utility Auto Parts may replace it. If no replacement is available, a refund may be issued upon return. Return shipping costs are not reimbursed. A detailed explanation for returns is required.
  • Purchasers are responsible for return shipping and must provide a tracking number. Returns must be completed within 7 business days of authorization. Refunds are issued after inspection confirms the part’s original condition.
  • The warranty covers only defective or incorrectly shipped parts. Labor and storage fees are not covered.

Maintenance Requirements

  • Proof of compliance with the vehicle manufacturer’s maintenance schedule is required for warranty claims.
  • Acceptable records must be electronically generated, issued by a commercial automotive facility, and include the purchaser’s name, signature, mileage, date, VIN, vehicle details, and payment/service records. Handwritten records are not accepted.

Additional Terms

  • Credit card users waive the right to dispute charges with their credit card company.
  • Initial delivery shipping is free for commercial addresses accessible by semi-trailer; residential deliveries incur a fee. Return shipping is the purchaser’s responsibility.
  • Utility Auto Parts’ liability is limited to the purchase price of the part. Remedies for defective parts are limited to replacement or refund, at Utility Auto Parts’ discretion.
  • Deposits to reserve parts are non-refundable.
  • Engines and transmissions must be installed by an ASE-certified mechanic at a licensed facility.
  • Incorrect orders or cancellations are the purchaser’s responsibility.
  • No refunds or credits for engines/transmissions not in their original condition.
  • Purchasers must self-report and pay applicable use tax if sales tax is not collected.
  • Utility Auto Parts is not liable for incidental, special, or consequential damages. Liability is capped at the purchase price.
  • Purchasers agree to indemnify Utility Auto Parts and affiliates against losses from violations of this agreement.
